ella & jaks - Geisha

Whilst keeping with the one-off designs concept I am introducing my first collection, Geisha. This wonderful combination of blooms and stripes has been used to create these four styles, with a few more to come. Keep an eye out for clutches, different handbags and perhaps a purse or two.

Best get moving on that then!

Another bag finished, another new design! Am rather chuffed at the outcome here, shall get in and make some more… this one the ‘ella & jaks candy shop poppies’.

from start to finish

It’s not very often that I take a pik at the beginning of a project, but this time I wanted to remember my colour layout… But when I looked back at my photos it made me realise what a good feeling it is when a project comes to completion and you are happy with the result! The time taken is worth it

So now this new number is listed and ready to go, please check him out, he’s ella & jaks suede swatches. Many more to come, have started the next bag, with others already floating around in my head, LOL!

new things to try...

Hello again,

Following on from my previous post and my fabric haul, I have been able to use this festive season to experiment with a few new designs, piks included here: ‘ella & jaks - Sunset’ and ‘ella & jaks caramel gathers’. So much fun it is… the only dilema is which fabrics to choose…

I am also part way through a number of cushion covers, (nothing like doing many projects at the same time!) and I will post piks as soon as I have them completed!

I look forward to bringing you many more creations…

how lucky was I?!

Before Christmas I was lucky enough to have my husband attend an auction and we won all the fabric samples from an upholsterer! Here is a couple of piks, but it only shows a fraction of what I now have to create with, so please, keep an eye out for some really exciting things! There will be more ella & jaks bags of course, but I have my plans for ella & jaks homewares - cushion covers and soooo much more!

I hope you all had a most marvellous Christmas and may 2009 be nice for all of us.

finally I have some Lara Cameron!

Before the year is out I have been able to tick another thing off my list and that is to create a bag using some Lara Cameron fabric, good Aussie talent, textile printer based in Melbourne. Such organic material. Check out her site at http://www.inkandspindle.com.au/!

it's been a while

You know what I mean, time goes, it’s all cool and then you realise… where did that time go, not that it’s ever been wasted but it’s cannot be accounted for, maybe that’s the point, it does not need to be accounted for… However that’s my thinking out loud!

I have been busy as always, and this month has been all about my princess, my first little girl and her first ballet and jazz ballet concert on the weekend, not to mention her fifth birthday last week and all the party festivities that go with it! I have included a picture from a very proud mum. I also will include tomorrow a picture of the party bags I made, I have had enough of the disposal lifestyle we have and made some pretty bags for the party goers to keep…

But on the handbag front I have just received a large amount of fabric that has me more than excited, also I have coming tomorrow some lovely fabric handprinted from Lara Cameron, based in Melbourne, and what better than to support an Australian textile designer, so keep an eye out for the bags created with her designs…!
